Bialova Nika — Graphic Art

University taught me how to work with printing software and equipment. Working with illustrations is one of my strengths.

How I work in publication design:

«The Mug»

Serge Gainsbourg · 2026

This book is dedicated to Serge Gainsbourg—musician, author, provocateur, and one of the most vibrant figures in 20th-century French culture. His work, image, demeanor, and public scandals made him not just an artist, but a cultural myth, blending music, literature, cinema, love, and self-destruction.

Main tasks:

  • analysis of analogies and references
  • research of the biography, work, and influence of Serge Gainsbourg
  • creation of the book text
  • development of a visual language
  • creation of illustrations
  • typography and layout
  • printing

The book reveals Gainsbourg as a multifaceted and ever-changing figure, from a refined singer to the daring and dangerous Gainsbarre. Through music, quotes, images, and stories from his life, not only the artist’s biography is revealed but also the atmosphere of an entire era—Paris, bohemia, scandal, love, and freedom.

Bialova Nika — Graphic Art

At university, I learned how to work with software and visual identity. Development, starting with branding, client communication, identity development, and the ability to apply it to promotion and adaptation to various media.

Hound’s Puncture

Tattoo and piercing salon · Vilnius

A complete salon identity built around a hound’s bite: the logo lives inside the fangs, the palette stays black, white and one red, and the system stretches from business cards and gift vouchers to care instructions and street posters.

San Antón

Festival identity · Madrid · 16–17 Enero

Identity for the Madrid festival of San Antón, patron of animals: a geometric saint assembled from dogs, birds and paw prints, applied to posters, badges, and a family of tote bags.

Comics are one of the best forms of creativity for communicating and impressing the viewer. Personally, I’d like to develop this area further.

Deutsch Trip

Concept for a comic · 2025

This is a comic about two sisters who go on a trip to German cities. It’s a rough draft, but it turned out very lively and emotional, the comedy working well for the focus group.

Gender Party

Concept for a series of illustrations · 2026

Gender is a strong theme in my work. The differences between sexes and genders have always resonated with me. I try to explore what is true and what is stereotypical, and how the body, gender, and sexuality are interconnected.

Gender dysphoria and transsexuality have become a separate and important area of focus. As someone with gender dysphoria, this is very important to me. I explore these topics through myself and others.

Destructive Beginning

Exhibition of contemporary art · 2025

Spring is the best time for brain and physical activity. But the further you go in life, the harder it is to rethink your strategies for experiencing strong emotions that have been developed over the years. Destructive Beginning is an exhibition of contemporary art aimed at studying the broken functions of our brain. Our authors want to share how all the garbage accumulated in our heads and bodies begins to bloom, giving us the opportunity to see more clearly what we usually leave inside ourselves.

I organized the exhibition, gathered my student friends, and presented a number of illustrative and graphic works on the topic. Some of mine are presented here.

Man With a Dog’s Head

Concept for a series of illustrations · 2026

Dogs are a great inspiration to me. This image runs through my entire creative journey. They are a multifaceted symbol that has become both the main character of my projects and an established means of expression.

Homesickness

Illustration series · 2026

It’s a symbol of the most sensitive and naive times. After the death of my four-legged friend, this theme took on new colors in my illustrations. It’s a symbol of home, family, devotion, and honesty.

Dogmatic Disorder

Book concept · 2026

Dogmatic Disorder is a ready-made print project of an emotional rainbow, reflecting on the theme of migration and separation from home and family.

In my photography projects, I try to focus on background stories and forms, both visual and narrative. I especially enjoy working with decor, concept, post-processing, and interacting with models. But I also feel confident behind the camera.

Cockroach Project

Graphic Art, Illustration and Contexts, Scenography · 2024

The goal of the project was to show the challenges faced by almost every student at our university and, based on this, create a portrait. For this, I chose three second-year students from the visual design program. Of course, who would have more problems than the half-baked designers and, at the same time, half-baked artists? I chose people I know personally, and the problems I know and see myself; all that remained was to categorize them and give them an image.

Death of a Student

Photo project · Scenography · April 2025 · Mars and Vinz — Anti-students

«From a simple desire to take a photo in a freaky image with feathers to a depressive and comical scream into the void»

The idea came while listening to the song “NEW GOOD #TEXT”. The chorus, written and performed by Kirill Bledny, contains the line: “Because of one text, I was denied entry to Europe”. I had a thought: “For what text would I be denied entry to Europe?” The obvious answer came to mind — for expulsion from university.

The angel is a representation of actual death, holding two attributes at once: a diploma and an expulsion order. The exhausted pedantic bunny in a business suit and Adidas pants, added by my friend, colleague and muse Vinz, is a student on the edge who does not see himself as anyone except his profession. It was a collaboration with another design student. I prepared the props, created the looks of the angel of death and the bunny diploma, did makeup, was a rough model, and was behind the camera.
